Anche quest’estate l’ultimo caffè a Londra nella mia tazza l’ho preso a Buckingham Palace !!!!
Ho visitato (rivisitato…) il palazzo e alla fine, nel giardino (parco) interno dove c’è allestito un gazebo abbiamo mangiato qualcosa e preso un caffè.
Spettacolo !!!

Even this summer the last coffee in London in my teacup it’s been at Buckingham Palace !!!!
I visited (revisited …) the Palace and then, in the garden (park) where there is a gazebo we had a luch and I had a coffee too.
Fantastic !!!

All’interno di Buckingham Palace c’è una mostra sui bambini che hanno vissuto a palazzo: la regina e i suoi figli principalmente.
Foto, video, giochi, vestiti, etc…
È in occasioni come queste che mi rendo conto che chi come me fa il mio lavoro (antiquario) è talmente abitato a maneggiare cose bellissime e rare che alle volte si danno per scontati oggetti rari se non unici.
Un po’ come tutti noi italiani che siamo così abituati all’arte, ai monumenti, le chiese antiche, le città storiche, etc….
Finché non andiamo all’estero e ci facciamo abbindolare dalla maestria di vendere degli stranieri che ci propinano 2 mattoni mezzi nuovi e sembra che abbiano chissà cosa…. Quando invece noi abbiamo così tanto …
Oggi in mostra ho visto oggetti che ho od ho avuto.
Loro quegli oggetti li hanno anche pubblicati sul libro della mostra.
La macchinina che usava Carlo negli anni ’50 per esempio

Inside Buckingham Palace there is an exhibition about The life of children who have lived in the Palace: the Queen and her children mostly.
Photos, videos, games, clothes, etc …
I realize that people like me, who do my job (antique dealer) is used to handle things so beautiful, rare and unique.
Same for all The Italians: we are so used to the art, monuments, old churches, historic towns, etc ….
Until when we go abroad and we see how foreign well propose us 2 bricks nearly new … To us …. we have so much more history then they…
Today at the exibition I saw objects that i have or have had.
The car that Charles used in the 50s when he was a child

Anche i miei bimbi si sono divertiti da pazzi con una macchinina uguale a quella.

Even my kids had a lot of fun with a car like Charles’s one

Me l’hanno chiesta per anni dopo che l’ho venduta…
Lo so… Lo so… Potevo tenerla un po’… Ma non posso tenere tutto… Solo quello per cui riesco a trovare uno spazio … Più o meno… Ci sono periodi in cui ho gli scatoloni per casa con cose in stand-by che devo decidere se me ne posso staccare…

Ecco, per esempio, una cosa che ho in stand-by in garage da 9 anni …

Quando l’ho trovata ero incinta
Un segno del destino, no?
Un paio di volte l’ho usata
…ma solo perché io vado in giro con un furgone non con la macchina…

They asked me this car for years after I sold it …
I know … I know … I could keep it a bit more… But I can not keep everything … I can keep only what i find a room for … More or less … Sometimes I have boxes at home. Boxes full of things in stand-by : I have to decide if I can do without and sell it or i have to keep it…

For example, one thing I have in stand-by in the garage from 9 years is the same pram of Prince Andrew had
When I found it I was pregnant
A sign of destiny, i thought
I used it few times
… But only because I drive a van, not a car …

Da qui ho recuperato solo questa foto di mio figlio in quella carrozzina, ne aggiungerò quando torno …

È un oggetti simbolo degli anni 50/60.
L’avevo vista anche alla mostra dei 150 anni dei grandi magazzini John Lewis come oggetto di design degli anni ’50.
La producono ancora e proprio oggi ne ho vista una per strada:

I had also seen one in the exhibition for The 150 anniversary of John Lewis department as a design object of the 50s.
This pram Is still made and just today I saw one in the street:

Anche se certi oggetti mi emozionano sempre alle volte si corre il rischio di abituarsi …

Even if some objects always exciting me sometime i risk to be used at beauty …

Chi viene a Londra dovrebbe approfittarne per vedere l’interno del palazzo reale, le sale di rappresentanza etc
La mostra c’è solo in estate quando la Regina si trasferisce in altre residenze
